The Professional Scrum Master course is specifically targeted at Scrum Masters, although the lessons are applicable to anyone in a role that supports a software development team’s efficiency, effectiveness and continiues improvement. If you are responsible for the successful use and/or roll-out of Scrum in a project or enterprise, this course is likely to be a good fit.
- Participants are challenged to think within the Scrum framework and the underlying values and principles to better understand what to do when returning to the workplace and facing complex decisions.
- Have a clear understanding of the rules of Scrum through the empirical foundation of Scrum.
- Participants can act as a Scrum Master for Scrum Teams as well as stakeholders from an in-depth understanding of servant-leadership.
- Effectively be able to start up Scrum or increase its effectiveness if already underway.
The Professional Scrum Master (PSM) course provides information and tools you can use to ensure that Scrum is understood and well enacted by your team. This course covers Scrum basics, including the framework, mechanics and roles of Scrum. It also teaches how to use Scrum to optimise value, productivity and the total cost of ownership of software products. Participants learn through instruction and team-based exercises and are challenged to think on their feet to better understand what to do when they return to their workplaces.

Scrum Theory and Principles
How Scrum principles tie back to the empirical nature of Scrum and how they are fundamentally different from those of more traditional software development approaches. We also cover the impact that transparency brings and requires and how Scrum is best used to increase an organisation’s agility.
The Scrum Framework
How Scrum theory is implemented using time-boxes, roles, rules, and artifacts. How can these be used most effectively and how can they fall apart?
People and Teams
Scrum Teams are self-organising and cross-functional – very different from traditional development groups. We delve into the people aspect of Scrum, how to work with people and how Scrum Teams are formed. We discuss tools and ideas to get Scrum teams going and guide them along the way, and help them continuously self-develop to become successful through better collaboration
The Definition of Done
What does done mean? How to define effective of done and make the team and project success.
Running Scrum Project
How to apply and deploy all the Scrum practices in new project.
The Scrum Master
Scrum Masters are servant-leaders with skills and tools to coach teams and organisations in understanding and applying Scrum. They master several techniques for coaching, conversation and facilitation in order to help people, teams and organisations discover what works best for them. Being a Scrum Master requires specific skills and traits. The overall behavior of a Scrum Master is very different from a project manager or team leader in a traditional environment.
